Fried Rice

Fried RiceWe make a simple Asian inspired fried rice here, starting with heating sesame seed oil and ginger before introducing the brown rice proper, which is soaked overnight to remove the phytic acid that we want out of the way.

The test of fried rice, according to a Chinese chef, is for the brown rice to jump. Make your brown rice jump and your fried rice is guaranteed to be the real deal.

The veggies we infuse are green onions ,cucumber and cilantro, with some cleverly camouflaged spring greens at the base for added nutrition.

The crowning highlight of the dish is tofu from our tofu recipe, added on at the very end.

The end result? A complete and perfectly satisfying meal. A simple and delicious creation.

Vaidya Priyanka or Vaidyaji, as she is often called, comes from a 720 year old lineage of women Ayurvedic healers from Kerala ,India.

In her practices all over the world, she teaches the principles of Ayurveda and how to integrate the various applications of this ancient science alongside nutritional supplements of the West — medicated oil applications, aromatherapy, color therapy, yoga, nutrition, music, cooking, dance, exercise and meditation—into people's daily lifestyles as part of their own healing journey.
